I had problem with that one with Windows 7 RC, when I installed it, the first time after that I shutted down my computer for the night, every composants of my computer was down, but my fan was still running, the only way I succed to fix this it's to do a restore with my "last known good configuration", since then, my fan was okay but blue screen started.

Welcome to Windows 7 Forums. It is highly recommended that you download the latest version.
If you leave atk on board your compie, windows 7 will allways try to put it onboard for you, and it will not work, as i have just found out, you do not need it, just uninstall it, or turn it off in device manager, and it is a piece of old hardware that is no longer needed.
